We are proud of our city of Shelby, to some, it may seem like a small main street town but we know otherwise. Several well-known people have called this place home including Earl Scruggs and Don Gibson. It is also the residence of Randy McNeilly, an International award-winning photographer who has been preserving moments in time since 1979.
In 1992 Randy earned his Masters degree in Photography. That same year he was one of the first in the Southeastern USA to embrace digital photography.
In 2009 Randy became the 100th photographer in the world to receive the Fellowship Degree from the American Society of Photographers. Throughout his career, McNeilly has received many accolades for his photographic excellence. He has also traveled worldwide teaching and lecturing professional photographers. In 2012 he received a lifetime appointment into Camera Craftsman, one of the most highly respected independent photography organizations in the world. Randy is a USA representative in the World Photographic Cup. An Olympic type competition involving photographers from 47 countries. A photograph by Randy of a local custom bike builder’s motorcycle has been selected as one of the top 10 commercial photographs worldwide.
Randy currently serves as a Judge and Jury Chairman for Professional Photographers of America’s International Photographic Competition.
